My mother's family were among the first settlers of Newbury, Mass. These ancestors worked the land in a variety of ways. My great grand father , GA Randall, invented a bog shoe for the horses to walk across the marshes, so they wouldn't sink down. I loved the way the paint just flowed across the surface as I painted this. My thoughts kept wandering to my ancestors as I worked.
